The competition is open to music students residing in the San Angelo area who have Concho Valley teachers.

Workers at the Toyota Motor Corp. plant in Buffalo have filed a grievance with the National Labor Relations Board, saying they're being denied the right to pass out union literature. The complaint was filed Friday at the federal agency's regional office in Cincinnati. Toyota employees Tim Smith and Richard Snyder say they were denied permission to distribute union literature during break periods.

BANGOR, Mich. Investigators are looking into a fatal early morning fire. That fire broke out at a house in the 100 block of North Center Street in Bangor and quickly got out of control. Fire crews were able to contain the fire, but not before lives were lost.

Forgent Networks Inc. is selling 500,000 shares of its stock to the newly appointed interim CEO. Austin-based Forgent (Nasdaq: ASUR) reached a purchase agreement with Patrick Goepel, who is also a member of the company's board of directors, for the shares at 35 cents per share, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission . Also, the filing indicates that Goepel will receive a base salary of $125,000 and be eligible for a $35,000 cash bonus.

September 6 th , long-time Clare resident Richard Snyder was honored for being the 150 millionth person to cross the Mackinac Bridge. According to the Mackinac Bridge Authority, the five-mile-long span between the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan, took three and one-half years to build and opened to traffic on November 1, 1957. It is the third longest suspension bridge in the world.

The CEO of Forgent Networks Inc. has resigned her position after a group of shareholders took control of the company's board following a proxy fight. On Sept. 8, Nancy Harris submitted a letter of resignation that will become effective Sept. 30, according a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Another mile­stone crossing has been record­ed on the Mackinac Bridge. Richard Snyder, of Clare, Mich., drove the 150 millionth vehicle to across the five-mile span around 5:30 p.m. on Sun­day and was greeted by a wel­coming party and gifts. Mackinac Bridge Authority and Michigan Department of Transportation officials counted vehicles while waiting for the milestone vehicle to arrive and identified Snyder's vehicle for the surprise award.

Days after Forgent Networks Inc. shareholders voted to replace its board of directors, the company reported that it reached a $95,000 severance agreement with Chairman Richard Snyder. The deal, which was reached two days before last week's annual meeting, granted Snyder the lump sum and terminated any parachute agreement between him and the company, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. A suspected drunk driver who sideswiped a pickup truck on Kings Highway was arrested Wednesday after the pickup's driver gave chase and called the police, Saugerties town police said Thursday. The suspect, Daniel Decker, 24, of Lake Katrine, fled into the woods, but was apprehended after a a state police helicopter and several police agencies were called to aid the search. Decker was arrested on several misdemeanor charges, including drunken driving, and both he and his passenger were charged with endan
